Apricot Iced Tea

Did you know how easy it is to make homemade iced tea? It is done in under 15 minutes and the perfect summer drink for a BBQ party! You can easily swap the apricots for any other fruit you like, such as peaches, nectarines or strawberries.

Preparation Time: 5 mins

Cooking Time: 10 mins

Total Time: 15 mins

Portions: ca. 1,4 l

Ingredients

2 bags black tea (e.g. English Breakfast)

1 l water

14 apricots

1 lemon (juice)

8 tbsp agave syrup or honey

2 stalks rosemary (optional)

ice cubes

Method

  1. Put the 2 bags of black tea in 1 liter of cold water (the water needs to be cold, otherwise the tea will become very bitter), and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

  2. For the syrup, pit the apricots and cut into quarters. Put the apricots with the lemon juice and agave syrup into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Pour the syrup through a sieve and let cool completely.

  3. In a big jug, mix the syrup and the cold black tea, and add ice cubes. Garnish with fresh apricots, some fresh rosemary, and lemon slices.

Enjoy!
