Bircher Muesli/Overnight Oats

A healthy breakfast which you can easily eat on the go if you put it into a jar with a lid. Oats are easier to digest if they are soaked overnight. The body can better absorb the beneficial nutrients that oats contain because anti-nutrients are broken down during the soaking process.

Vegetarian Option


Ingredients


50 g oats

75 g natural yoghurt

1 tsp honey

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 small apple

15 g walnuts

15 g cranberries

110 ml liquid (e.g. 80 ml water + 30 ml milk)

 

Method


1. Mix oats and liquid, let soak for 5 minutes.


2. Add the natural yoghurt, honey, dried cranberries, and cinnamon to the mixture. Stir well.


3. Roughly grate the apple, chop the walnuts, and add these to the mixture as well.


4. Put in the fridge overnight and eat in the morning!


Enjoy!


 

Vegan Option
