This porridge has an amazing sweetness from the caramelised pecan nuts and fresh figs, and will sweeten your morning.

45 g oats
250 ml water or plant-based milk
1-2 tbsp maple syrup
2 fresh figs
15 g pecan nuts
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch vanilla extract
1 pinch sea salt
1. Roast the pecan nuts in a pan until they are lightly golden brown. Deglaze with 1/2 - 1 tbsp maple syrup, stir well and turn off the heat. Set aside.
2. In a small pot, mix oats, fluid, spices and 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional). Cook on low heat for 5 minutes until the porridge has the desired consistency.
3. Cut one fig into small cubes and stir into the porridge.
4. Top the porridge with the second fig and caramelised pecan nuts.
